Capacities

Chips JU has co-funded a number of technology-specific pilot lines, as well as a design platform, aimed at reducing barriers for SMEs to adopt advanced technology. These are also available to research communities.

In addition, Norway has its own infrastructures that support education, research and innovation in micro- and nanotechnology.

CC NorChip will, over the next four years, assist small and medium-sized enterprises in gaining access to advanced technology development and facilities in Norway and across Europe.

The goal is to enhance competence and competitiveness in Norway by strengthening Norwegian companies' ability to adopt advanced technologies and capabilities available both in Norway and Europe.

CC-NorChip is a collaboration between SINTEF, NTNU, the University of Oslo (UiO), the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), the University of Tromsø (UiT), and Electronic Coast within CC-NorChip.

01

Strengthen competitiveness, innovation, commercialization, and technology leadership for Norwegian and European companies.

02

Contribute to the security of supply for chip technologies and applications.

03

Lower the barrier for Norwegian stakeholders to adopt semiconductor and sensor technologies.

04

Support the green and digital transformation of society.

The competence center is supported by the EU through the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) and the Research Council of Norway (NFR).

CC-NorChip aims to lower the barrier for small and medium-sized enterprises in Norway, enabling them to participate in the technology development taking place across Europe.
